Turn off your mods one by one and test to see if it works. If you installed mods on the game, that might be the problem too since some mods don't go well with others and crash the game or won't let it start due to the fact that multiple mods are trying to access the same files and overwrite them countering eachother. This goes without saying that you all reaady have powerful enough machines to run the game, you didn't cheat or modify the game files in any way, and you have all ready checked that your antivirus is allowing your application to work.

Reinstall it since it's such a small game to download and copy paste your save game folder back to the folder specified above. Then choose to delete all local content from Steam by right clicking Torchlight within your Steam Games Library and this will delete the game from your PC. I don't know if any of it applies anymore - I didn't really read it:Īnother thread suggested saving the game more frequently due to the game's memory usage, but it was a 2012 thread, so I don't know if it still applies. I do a manual save after each session on the game, but of course, you can Alt+Tab out and do them more frequently. I like to keep a desktop folder for the above game folder, and I also have a desktop folder for the sequentially numbered saves. This PC/Local Disk (C:)/Users/Name (whatever name you've given your computer)/AppData/Roaming/runic games/torchlight The save folder for Torchlight I is located here: This one is a Steam Cloud problem, which was discovered after the player couldn't get the game to note: I recommend making your own save backups for the game and turn the Steam Cloud off for this game, because it causes problems for both Torchlight I and Torchlight II. After that click on Okay and it should launch just fine. When it asks you if you want to use the saved data on your computer, goto Run type in %appdata% and delete all your saves. This thread is about startup crashes, but maybe something in here will apply to in-game crashes as well:Īnother fix for when the game crashes on startup was to do this: You will, however, need to reset your previous settings for the game. Deleting this file also helps with crashing issues on Torchlight II.

This is harmless to do, and the game will create a new one as soon as you start playing again. Try a note: Delete the local_settings.txt file, since it is easily corrupted. My saves where at C:\Users\Wesley\AppData\Roaming\runic games\torchlight (appdata is hidden folder)

This link tells you to delete both save folders, i also deleted the mod folder just in case, i didnt had to delete the folder "saves before cloud" for some reason The problem is with mod saves (i did use) If you don’t have a moderately strong computer, you might have no choice but to skip this one.Originally posted by Wesley Ronald:i'm using W7 and just had this after more then 3 years without playing Additionally, this mod may kill a lot of players’ framerate, because you’ll often run into literal hordes of enemies ranging in the dozens, which, unless you have a crazy powerful computer, is going to bring the game to a halt at times. However, this mod may be problematic for some, because it makes the game quite a bit harder, being balanced around the harder difficulties. Of all the mods on this list, this is objectively the most important, because without it you’re missing out on a lot of crazy cool content.

In addition to three new classes, the mod adds new towns, new dungeons, and even revamps new game plus, adding new content to the higher tiers of playthroughs, such as unique legendary weapons, new awesome looking armors, and even new bosses. The Synergies mod might as well be considered an expansion pack for the game, considering it adds a ludicrous amount of original content while also reworking vanilla content. This is probably the most important mod on this list, because it is enormous.
